Tony Awards 2018: The Complete Winners List

The 2018 Tony Awards closed out after a tumultuous night, anchored by hosts Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban. Several major categories saw dark horse contenders take the lead, and Robert De Niro had some choice words for President Trump.
As expected, The Band's Visit won Best Musical, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won Best Play, and Angels in America won Best Revival of a Play.
But Once On This Island landed an underdog victory for Best Revival of a Musical, edging out both Lincoln Center's ravishing My Fair Lady and the more polarizing Carousel.
The Band's Visit walked away with a total of ten awards off eleven nominations, including Best Actor (Tony Shalhoub), Best Actress (Katrina Lenk), Best Supporting Actor (Ari'el Stachel), Best Score, and Book. It was a bigger haul than many expected, with pundits thinking the acting and design awards would be split with SpongeBob SquarePants or Carousel.

And Robert De Niro threw CBS censors for a loop. As he presented a maudlin number by Bruce Springsteen, he shouted "F--k Trump!", which had to be bleeped out on broadcast and sent social media into a tizzy.
Other highlights:
Last year's Best Actress winner Laurie Metcalf pulled off the evening's first major upset, beating Denise Gough for Best Featured Actress for her role in Three Tall Women. She made headlines earlier this month for breaking Broadway box office records while her big TV gig, the Roseanne reboot, was cancelled over its star's racist social media messages.
Itamar Moses and The Band's Visit beat industry darling Tina Fey for Best Book of a Musical. Fey's Mean Girls was seen as a lock by almost the entire industry, and without an expected win in the category, it went home with zero trophies for its twelve nominations.
The Marjory Stone Douglas drama school class, all survivors of the Parkland school shooting, performed a rendition of the classic "Seasons Of Love" from Rent, while their teacher Melody Herzfeld received a special Tony Award. A beautiful tribute to the power of both theater and love in a divided country. Not a dry eye in the house.
Ari'el Stachel clambered to the top of a competitive category and won Best Featured Actor in a Musical. His acceptance speech touched on the struggle of being Middle Eastern in America, and finding one's home in Broadway's first majority-Arab musical.
Announced beforehand were a slew of non-competitive Tonys, including one for the industry's box office boss, Bruce Springsteen, who's been commanding  the highest average ticket price in Broadway history, north of $504. (His performance on the telecast was anything but worthwhile). John Leguizamo was another non-competitive recipient, while his latest solo show, Latin History For Morons was also a nominee for Best Play.
Below are the nominees in all 26 categories. Our predictions were shot to heck, but that meant the ceremony was one of the most exciting in years. Winners are in BOLD, and when they matched our predictions, also with stars ***
